Meet Nicole Waicunas of the School of Innovative Learning (SOIL)

Please join us March 7th for our next Two Bridges Community meeting where we’ll meet Nicole Waicunus, Creator and Director of The School of Innovative Learning (SOIL).

What if there was a school where the focus was on the best of who your child is and who your child is becoming? What if there was a school where your child couldn’t wait to go – every day? What if there was a school where you, as the parent or caretaker knew that what was happening in the classroom was truly focused on your child’s interests, learning styles, and how your child wanted to express what they created?

Nicole’s goal is to create a place where students want to go and where parents and caregivers find joy in sharing in their children’s journeys. The School of Innovative Learning (SOIL) is a place where the focus is on the gifts and talents of the students, the families of students, and the community, inviting all involved to flourish.

SOIL is a place where people begin to realize just how worthy and valuable everyone is, and how much every person has to offer. It is a place where the intellect, passion, and courage of facilitators, students, parents, caregivers, and community members work together to find the best in one another, and in themselves.

The student is the center of the model, and the center of the school. From that center, all things are possible.

The mission of SOIL corresponds with the mission of Two Bridges in that:

  • The focus of each asks the young person, parent, community member, and businessperson to recognize the best of themselves and one another and to share that best with their community.
  • From the child in the classroom to every person with whom that child interacts within the Two Bridges community, intellectual, social-emotional, and creative growth, based on interest, is the goal.

I can’t wait to meet you, share the beauty of this model, and discuss how it will become the place for your children to thrive, and for you to thrive with them.
